Smart Home Installation Pros have certain duties: As part of your Installation Pro job you will be asked to do the following: • Drive to a centralized location in an area to take care of customers in and around surrounding areas. Travel is required. • You will install Vivint security and home automation equipment. Experience with the following equipment such as Honeywell, GE, Ademco, and DSC is beneficial, however, not necessary. • Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris. • Ability to apply a variety of other skills gained from job categories such as Maintenance, Construction, Electrician, Driver, etc... • Explain system capabilities and operation to customer, while ensuring that you have adequate amounts of equipment. • Complete all necessary paperwork (physical and digital), including work orders, service orders, and customer agreements. • Assist in promotion and sale of additional equipment/services. Installation Pros have the potential to earn additional commission depending on how motivated they are to up-sell current and new customers. • Exhibit professional appearance and conduct and provide customers with excellent customer service. • Paid training and compensation for travel are all provided. • Must interact and communicate well with customers and fellow Install Pros alike. • The job of an Install Pro also requires the ability to communicate effectively with potentially adverse, difficult or discouraged customers. • Must service your customers’ system to ensure quality installations. Vivint's Installation Pros receive the following: • Training is paid just before you leave for your summer market. • Travel to the new market will be compensated by a Travel Advance. • Personal transportation must be provided to all trainings and installs. • 4 month cell phone allowance provided. • Additional compensation will be given for equipment “upsold” to customers. Vivint's Installation Pros meet certain standards: • MUST PASS CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK. • MUST HAVE RELIABLE SOURCE OF TRANSPORTATION. • MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE TO ANOTHER STATE FOR 4 MONTHS. (April 21st – August 31st) • MUST BE SELF MOTIVATED TO WORK HARD. • During those 4 months the work schedule is Monday – Saturday. • All Installation Pros must have current, valid driver’s license and very clean driving record. If hired, we will run your motor vehicle report, which must meet company standards. • Reliable, state registered, state inspected and state insured transportation is a necessity. • Employees are required to submit to a criminal history check and obtain clearance from the state based upon the state requirements. • All professionals must be able to pass a drug test. • Must be available to work Monday through Saturday in the new city. • Strong analytical ability required to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, management and customers, strong and demonstrated effective verbal, written and listening skills, and professional telephone skills and manners. • Must be able to work as a member of a team. • Preference is shown to those with experience as a Technician (general skills), Electrician (wiring), Construction (working with tools), Customer Service (working with people), and/or Driver (defensive driving from one Install/service ticket to another). • Part of your job requires that you be able to stay on feet (standing) for extended periods of time. • As an Install Pro you must be flexible enough to safely maneuver through shallow attics and crawl underneath homes to run phone and A/C wires. (Seldom) • Basic knowledge of and ability to operate hand and power tools.
