Role Summary:

Avitas Systems is looking for a Flight Operations Manager who will provide product delivery, field engineering and process design and management guidance and leadership. The Flight Operations Manager will have a strong knowledge of flight operations with a focus on safety and integration of technologies.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Flight Operations Manager will be a key member of the Avitas Systems Operations & Delivery team to foster the growth of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute operational procedures for demos

  • Manage milestones and internal / external stakeholders to develop demo plan

  • Operationalize demos which includes responsibility for equipment and personnel coordination, pre-testing, waivers, flight safety, and coordination with engineering and marketing

  • Serve as point of contact for marketing and technical demos

  • Create and manage technical and operational hardware and software methods and procedures

  • Work with third party vendors to adopt and/or incorporate product delivery processes

  • Ensure that all operating and delivery procedures are compliant with certain industry standards

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a “STEM” major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or Aviation Safety / Management

  • FAA Pilot’s License

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Aviation industry

  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in relevant areas and functions within a product/platform organization and/or program/project management

  • Military or Civil sUAS / UAS experience

  • Experience with cloud-based hardware and software solutions and technologies

  • Prior Experience developing technical demos

  • Designated Flight Safety operations

  • Experience in aviation industry program management, certification or regulation efforts

  • Proven track record with both working with senior executives, technical decision makers

  • Experience in working with local and remote teams across time zones

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface and influence at all levels in the organization

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a global matrix organization

  • Ability to learn and define business processes and operationalize via supporting technologies/tools

  • Highly self-motivated contributor who works well as an individual and within a team environment

  • Excellent organization skills; capacity to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
