Examples of Work

Duties will include assisting with firearm and/or archery shooting sports programs, conducting various shooting sports programs to youth, adults, women and families. These will include introductory firearms, firearms safety, handgun programs, as well as introductory archery programs and programs that create natural pathways to shooter and hunter recruitment.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Experience working in a recreational area, scenic attraction or historical setting or related coursework/training or experience. Driver's license is required.

PREFERRED: Applicants at least 21 years of age. Experience in teaching outdoor education programs including archery and firearms education. Certifications in archery and firearm instructions and shooting range operation including NRA Range Safety Officer and basic rifle and pistol instruction, 4H shooting sports instruction, USA Archery and or similar certifications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of firearms and/or archery equipment and their safe operation. Ability to: teach basic firearm and/or archery instruction to people with a variety of experience levels; understand and follow instructions; communicate effectively; command and operate a shooting range safely; ability to provide excellent customer service to all customers and visitors; follow curriculum and lesson plans.
