Leidos Software Test Engineer in BELLEVUE, Nebraska


Leidos has an opportunity for a Software Test Engineer supporting the implementation and delivery of USSTRATCOM MPAS software requirements. The qualified candidate will be part of a larger software development team responsible for software engineering, system engineering, testing, integration, installation, security engineering, administrative and additional support tasks required to provide reliable, effective, and user-friendly net-centric capabilities contributing to the overall operations and maintenance of USSTRATCOM MPAS capabilities.

  • Position Description:* The Software Test Engineer responsibilities include:

  • Design, development, and implementation of software testing methods and equipment including automated test tools;

  • Plans and coordinates schedules and equipment required for testing and evaluating software;

  • Develops parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed;

  • Compiles data and defines changes required in test procedures, or new testing requirements;

  • Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

Specific Skills include:

  • Participate in requirements analysis to ensure testability;

  • Participate in design and demonstrations to refine test steps and plans;

  • Develop test steps to ensure software quality and requirements validation, automate where possible;

  • Collaborate with development staff, cybersecurity staff, system engineering and users to ensure requirements, design and finished software is testable and meets all requirements;

  • Develop and archive test plans, test steps, test reports as required and following all program guidelines and procedures;

  • Execute approved test plans and produce test reports as necessary. Work with development staff to properly document and status issues found during testing.

  • Support consolidation of multiple developer software Builds



  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a computer science related field with at least 4 years of experience in software development, integration or testing;

  • Candidate must have experience with automated test tools & procedures;

  • Candidate must be a skilled technical writer with experience in adjudicating software requirements and developing supporting test documentation;

  • Candidate must have experience in developing “Help Documentation’ to accompany software deliveries;

  • Candidate must have experience in Software Configuration Control Processes & Procedures;

  • Candidate must possess an active TS clearance.


  • Proficiency with SQL

  • Proficiency with Test Management software and automated test tools;

  • Proficiency with Jira Software Development Management Tools;

  • Experience with USSTRATCOM Planning processes and supporting software;

  • Knowledgeable in Agile software development processes and timelines;

  • Knowledgeable in DoD IA and Cybersecurity policies/procedures and related testing methods.
